The film, Music to Madness - the story of Komitas, examines the Armenian Genocide from the perspective of Komitas, an Armenian music composer and priest that experienced a life filled with the passion of dreams pursued. Tragically, Komitas also witnessed the devastation of that dream during the calamity of the Armenian Genocide in the years 1915 - 1923. Through the life and tragedy of Komitas, genocide is considered not only as a demographic description of mass killing, but also as the murder of individual persons and the implications of these murders on those surrounding.

Dr. Alvaro Cruz, a neuroscientist, disillusioned by the death of his mother and his inability to help her, finds redemption and reward by helping Una Vida, a jazz singer he discovers performing on the streets of New Orleans. Her health declining and her singing partner and her adopted daughter unable to help, Cruz seeks out her long lost son in an effort to bring resolution to the grief, loss and longing that has overshadowed her hard but beautiful life.

A Grammy Celebration of Latin Music, a two-hour special “highlighting Latin music’s lasting impact and widespread influence in the United States,” is set to air Sunday, Dec. 28 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Jingbirok, the name of a book written by real-life Joseon historian and scholar Ryu Seong Ryong (Kim Sang Joong),detailing the Imjin War (1592-1598). The drama will be a telling of historical events with the scholar as the central character, in the samevein as “Jung Do Jun”(who influenced the founding of the Joseon dynasty). Ryu Seong Ryong was an official who served during King Seonjo’s reign in the late 16th century. He was a brilliant Confucian scholar who was put in charge of military operations during the Imjin War, and greatly influenced AdmiralLee Soon Shin.
